It’s that time of year again! The Christmas season is upon us, and it’s time to get your kids ready for the holiday season. For some, this means buying them gifts, decorating their homes with lights and bows, or baking cookies with them in the kitchen. For others, it means dressing up your children in their cutest kids costumes for Christmas so that you can show off how adorable they look on Instagram.
A Little Christmas Tree
The Christmas tree is one of the most iconic symbols of the holiday season. Decorated with lights, ornaments and tinsel, this evergreen will be your child’s favourite part of their room for years to come. There are several ways to decorate a tree depending on your personal style and budget. You can find pre-made trees at most major retailers, or you can go with something more unique: you might consider planting a special tree in your backyard with your kids that they can later bring inside each year! The tree should be placed in a prominent place in the home so everyone can see its splendour. Your little ones will enjoy filling it up with presents too!
An Elf on a Shelf
The elf on the shelf is a cute little elf in a red suit that sits on your mantle. As per the experts at Chasing Fireflies, “You can buy an elf-on-a-shelf kit, which includes an official book and a little red costume.”
The idea is that at night, the elf moves around your house and watches to see if the kids are behaving or being good. If they are, they will find candy or fruit in their shoes when they wake up in the morning!
Wear a white shirt and pants or some other light colour that stands out against the snow. Next, attach a carrot nose to the hat you’re wearing. Make sure it’s straight! This outfit is incomplete without gloves! You can buy them at Target for $10 or less—or use old socks instead and make your own mittens out of them!
Put on a scarf decorated with white snowflakes instead of buttons or bows. There are lots of options available on Amazon if you don’t want to make one yourself. It doesn’t matter what colour the scarf is since it will be covered up by your coat anyway!
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way…
Jingle bells are the small bell that is hung from a piece of clothing to make a sound when the wearer moves. They’re often attached to children’s clothing or shoes, but jingle bells can also be made of metal, plastic, or glass.
When it comes to holiday cheer and celebrations, no one does it better than Christmas bells! The unique sound that Christmas bells make is unforgettable — especially if you are young! And what better way to show your love for this joyful time of year than dressing your little one like an angelic cherub?
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer is a fictional character created by Robert L. May and was introduced in a 1939 storybook written by Montgomery Ward. Rudolph’s red glowing nose helps guide Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. He was chosen to guide Santa because he has a bright shiny nose that can light up the sky like no other reindeer’s nose.
Rudolph’s mother named him Rudolph because she liked the name; she thought it was cute!
