No hard feelings, OK?
Pitbull talked to Univision’s Premier Impacto about Lindsay Lohan’s recent lawsuit against him. She didn’t like the lyric that said “I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan” in Give Me Everything.
She claimed, through attorneys, that the line caused her pain and mental anguish and wants payback.
Pitbull says the matter is with the lawyers now and he’s still going to sing the song at Sunday’s VMAs. He even invited her to be his date.
He said he was surprised when he heard about the suit.
“To me it was very ironic, to be honest with you. At first I read it, and I was like, you’ve got to be joking. I came to find out it was very realistic.”
“When I mentioned Lindsay Lohan in the record, it was a really positive message,” he explained, saying that in the hood that expression is actually flattering. “If you play at the park, if you’re from the neighborhood if you got it locked up it means you run that area.”
So it was really a compliment and no, he didn’t mean to hurt her.
“I don’t want to bring that on anybody. I don’t look to degrade or hurt someone’s career,’’ he said. He instead thought the fact that she was mentioned in a No. 1 song could only help her career.
“We mention people’s names all the time. Rapping is always about double meanings and metaphors.”
